H1-B, L-1 and illegal immigration
Labor economics, US policy, loopholes, fraud and the motivation to hunt the globe for cheap labor is all creating a domestic labor market which cuts careers short and exposes Americans to labor arbitrage.
While the rhetoric spews, public relations firms issue press releases and paid off journalists write articles expounding a great "Worker Shortage" crisis and how illegal immigrants take jobs "Americans won't do" and the rest of the jobs "Americans can't do", the facts say something quite different.
This page lists some major references which prove manipulation of the US immigration system, focus on H-1B, L-1, is actually a strategy to repress wages, and undermine working America. The United States needs labor economics in their immigration policy that support working America. Labor economics is as a very real component in any domestic economy, and trading cheap labor around the globe without regard to how this affects domestic labor markets is not enhancing the lives and quality of life for working America and strengthing the US economically.
