Work That Americans Won't Do

One of the axioms that the free trade industry espouses is that immigrants are only doing work that Americans won't do.

This was echoed a couple of years ago by John "Give Them All Amnesty" McCain, who made the statement that Americans just won't pick lettuce for $50/hour. Shortly after that, his office was flooded by applications from Americans who wanted that job.

Well, this article should help put an end to this industry myth as well, where Pro's Ranch Market had hundreds of job applicants for a huge hole created by a federal audit.

it's pretty ridiculous

Believe this or not, there is spin trying to claim that "immigrants" help the economy. The statistics show we have wage repression, U.S. worker displacement and illegal immigration situation costs the country enormously.

The spin is on maximum high on this issue.

Arizona Illegal Immigrant Law

I recently learned about the extent of the Illegal immigrant problem in this country. From learning this, it appears to me that it could be possible that the jobs for illegal immigrants are now full in California and thus illegal immigrants might be migrating into other states now taking away more American jobs.

I do not agree with the statement that illegal immigrants are doing the work Americans do not want. My guess would be maybe 1% of highly paid American's don't want these jobs but the other 99% do want them and need them in order to feed their families.

If other states are critical of Arizona's law, then what are they doing to protect American jobs from illegal immigrants?
