Why would idiot Thomas Friedman even get an invite to a state luncheon with Obama?

At a state luncheon, idiot Thomas Friedman, who has proclaimed The World is Flat got a seat at the table.

Why??? Not only is he not an economist, his book has been debunked over and over and over again....by people who are economists!

So, why would just a nonsensical idiot get to be at a state luncheon, while scores of real economists cannot even get their policy recommendations and analysis read by this administration?

Unbelievable! Are we running trade and economic policy by sound byte?

The Obama administration has yet to outline its views on offshore outsourcing of skilled jobs and this continued today with Singh's visit. But there were clues nonetheless among the people who were invited at a State Department luncheon for Singh.

Among those at the luncheon was Thomas Friedman, a columnist at The New York Times and author of "The World is Flat."

Meanwhile people who really know what's going on are ignored and instead we get this bought and paid for corporate propagandist.

Read the rest of the article. It shows, clearly, that BPO body shops, such as TATA, while operating in the U.S., pretty much do anything but....hire Americans.

The U.S. is in dire need of jobs, yet the Obama administration won't even breath the word outsourcing or guest worker Visas, even though the evidence is overwhelming U.S. workers are being exposed to massive global labor arbitrage.

Ever think we'll see a state dinner where Americans who represent working America are invited? Think we'll see the Obama administration pay any attention beyond lip service to win elections to the U.S. middle class?

Obama didn't address offshoring and only talked broadly about economic cooperation. "India will play a pivotal role in meeting the major challenges we face today. And this includes my top economic priority, creating good jobs with good wages for the American people," he said.

Obama also said that "Indian investment in America is creating and sustaining jobs across the United States," adding that there is "significant balance in our trading relationships."

What a joke! Fortunately the article quotes Dr. Ron Hira at least to point out reality that in terms of services, jobs, we do not have trade balance with India. Nope. They have our jobs, to the tune of about 5.3% of their overall GDP and we have their.....mangoes.

Thanks a lot Obama! Not.

Obama

It doesn't surprise me that Obama is a member of the flat Earth society. Friedman must have liked the way Obama bowed to Japan and kowtowed to everyone else. I'll bet Friedman was invited to the big party with India that Obama just held.

Obama is looking far worse than Bush, which is not easy to do.

well frankly

I'm having a hard time seeing any difference and that's not just on our labor issues.
