President Obama demands more global labor arbitrage of Professional Workers
What a surprise. Obama tries to claim that flooding the U.S. labor market with more guest workers and unlimited migration will create the next Intel corporation. That's pure fiction! Firstly, Andy Grove came over as a child and also under much more restrictive immigration laws than today. This means, Andy Grove was a product of America, the United States educational system, the United States venture capital system, the United States opportunities.
It has nothing to do with where Grove was physically born and everything to do with opportunities in the United States, a system to educate, give first level careers to, to give venture capital to....it's citizens.
Good god, the propaganda is so thick one would these government officials they simply look at all Americans as somehow innately inferior. Is that the message? By origin of birth alone, now somehow all Americans cannot innovate? That somehow the old educational system, the career supports, the career opportunities that used to go to Americans, now shipped overseas, didn't have something to do with innovation of Silicon valley?
Sorry politicians, we don't live in a caste society....yet. If you want to foster the next innovation, reinstate the career supports, the educational opportunities for American citizens.
President Barack Obama used an appearance Wednesday at Facebook Inc.’s headquarters in Palo Alto, Calif., to pick apart a budget plan put forward by Republican lawmakers, and to encourage “comprehensive” immigration reform that continues to draw skilled foreign workers to the United States.
“We want more Andy Groves here, in the United States,” Obama said during the town-hall meeting, in reference to the Intel Corp. co-founder and Hungarian immigrant. The president advocated an immigration policy that allows for entrepreneurs like Grove to take root in this country.
“We don’t want them starting Intel in China, or starting it in France,” he added.
