Obama's Gene Sperling Architect of H-1B Guest Worker Increases
Obama put one of the worst corporate Democrats to head up his economic team, Gene Sperling. To make matters worse, he was the chief architect of the 2000 H-1B foreign guest worker increases, which lead to thousands of American tech workers losing their jobs and careers. InformationWeek:
Obama appointee Sperling was key H-1B broker
Sperling, who was named to head the National Economic Council, led the deal to raise the H-1B visa cap to an all-time high of 195,000 under ClintonIn the history of the H-1B program, few have played a role as important as that of Gene Sperling, who last week was appointed by President Obama to head the National Economic Council.
Sperling, who is replacing Lawrence Summers, led the council from 1996 to 2000, during the last four years of President Bill Clinton's term. During that time, Sperling brokered a deal with Congress to raise the visa cap to 195,000 -- the highest it has ever been -- between the years 2001 and 2003.
Be prepared to see more global labor arbitrage through outsourcing and importing foreign workers to displace Americans, coming from yet another Democrat administration.
Obama has been quite a
Obama has been quite a disappointment. As an alienated progressive, I see him as a Democratic administration with Republicans manning the business positions.
campaign contributions and selling out STEM
It's about campaign contributions and as usual, they are out to sell out STEM. We're seeing ridiculous stuff now, such as "only immigrants innovate" and "only the young can innovate" and in spite of the beyond belief unemployment rates, a reduction of overall STEM jobs and the number of STEM, I.T. workers who have been unemployed going on 3 years, with stellar skills to boot...
they are claiming there is a worker shortage.
As far as Professional Labor goes, Obama is just as bad as the GOP.
