The NFAP is Ridiculous
Think about it. the NFAP, a one man lobbyist shop, spewing misinformation on H-1B per their corporate clients, is now claiming Less than 1% of the workforce is H-1B.
Just to note, I have no idea, (except $$$$), what any respectful journalist would bother to write up their fictional garbage.
But let's think this through shall we? The U.S. workforce is 154 million. That's nice. The number of people employed in the U.S. is about 139 million.
The number of employed people with a Bachelors degree is 44 million.
Then the obvious.
To compare against the number of H-1Bs issued per year and try to claim that's 0.06% of the 154 million workforce is insane and so statistically inaccurate, if you don't see it, you deserve to have your high school diploma revoked.
Firstly (supposedly) a H-1B requires the "equivalent" of a Bachelors degree. Secondly the number of H-1Bs in the country, on a Visa that is good for 6 years and beyond, is unknown, but just going off of the current caps, and going off of the visa length of 6 years, that is 630,000.
According to this article, last year tech workers numbered about 3.9 million with over 200,000 officially unemployed. H-1B Visa holders exceed that number according to the U.S. government.
So, gee, that's over 5% of the tech workforce and very obviously the government is stating the number of H-1B Visa holders in this country literally outnumber of the number of U.S. workers needing a job.
Oh come on people, there are only so many bits in cyberspace. Don't waste them on NFAP junk.
