My blog post, forum topic or comment is labeled SPAM! Why???

Did you see this?

noslaves rejected post

Noslaves.com has software to stop spammers, referrer spam, trolls and other nasties from getting on the site.

So, what's wrong with the above post and why would it be rejected?

  1. Links are not formatted
  2. Post has no written text, it is just raw links
  3. Post is too short

Question:  Why would it be categorized as spam?

Answer:    Because this looks like referrer spam.  There are all sorts of bots trying to post on websites links to their malware, scams and fraudulent ads.  The software on noslaves.com automatically denies referrer spam to post.

So, if you see this message after you try to post somethiing, try writing something descriptive, readable by humans.

Just posting a couple of links doesn't say much to people.  Why should they go to a link?  What is important about it?

Format your links!

A formatted link looks like Noslaves.

A raw link looks like: http://www.noslaves.com

Which is more readable? But more importantly, referrer spam is most often in raw links and as a result, search engines do not crawl and index raw links. So, if you write something using raw links that means your post will not only look unreadable, it also will not be as visible.

See the user guide or use the rich text editor to help you format your posts, including URLs.

Thanks and happy blogging!
