IF WE ARE GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND GET NOTICED THIS
IS THE EVENT

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
''Synergies Summit' of USIBC is going to be held on  June 17 when three of its top officials including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be present.  The summit is likely to spell out the Obama administration's policy for India

On the 34th annual convention of the summit, India would be represented by its Commerce Minister and some of its leading corporate leaders, including Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) executive president, Venu Srinivasan,  CII's Tarun Das, Azim Premji and Anil Ambani would be attending the summit.

Also, there will be day-long deliberations between the corporate leaders of the two countries at the the USIBC.

How do we get unemployed people to notice this? How do we get people involved?  Even 15 people will get media's attention.

hmmmm

Well, first, advertise it, but to organize a protest people have to all coordinate, make signs, a game plan and show up.

You only have 6 days, so firstly advertising it here to see if you can get 10 people interested, and maybe contacting organizations who are in D.C. already, such as the CWA (communication workers, AFL-CIO), NumbersUSA has an office in DC as well as FAIR, etc. but they don't get the connection with offshore outsourcing and guest worker Visas it seems. You could post in slashdot, Dice, IEEE-USA and redirect them to this thread for how to organize a group. While IEEE-USA seems to have abandoned a lot of these issues the U.S. members I don't think have.

There are some local political blogs, RaisingKane is the NoVA one and so there are people there who are local to the area, but tech worker issues are not their main concern.

If it doesn't work you can check schedules to find one where there is more time or you could go yourself and blog on your disgust, what you found.

Folks please pass this around

Truly, Hillary Clinton enabled offshore outsourcing during the last recession and the last thing we need is more policy trading our jobs away.

it ain't gonna happen

I disagree that 15 people will get media attention. Not in Washington DC -- several hundred maybe. There are probably 20 or 30 protests a day in that city so a group of 15 people won't even be noticed.

Anyhow, I don't think it's possible to get more than 2 or 3 people. The only way to get lots of protestors is to work with the unions and that's not going to happen since Hillary is involved. There is no other organization I'm aware of in the DC area that could get more than a handful of people to protest this and that's assuming they wanted to.

I'm sure Immigrationvoice will be there -- and they will get media attention even if they have only 5 people.

Chalk this up to another loss of opportunity for our side.

isn't 15 or even 5 people

isn't 15 or even 5 people better than having nobody show up and fight for Americans. It's sad when most people just roll over to the foreign invasion. We have to fight for our jobs. C'mon at least we are trying. Use to work in DC for 5 years, you don't need hundreds to get some media attention.

Get your facts straight

"I'm sure Immigrationvoice will be there -- and they will get media attention even if they have only 5 people."

How many will IV people show up then? Do you know how much
a conference ticket costs? excluding the travel expenses.
I don't think one single IV person can afford the trip.

IV

IV has staged some rather large events in DC, even including dinners for Congressmen. They are funded by NASSCOM and CII so they have money. One thing for sure, they will outnumber any attempt to counter protest.

So what? After all Indians

So what? After all Indians outnumber Americans in Wipro, Infosys, and TCS in America. Maybe Indians outnumber Americans in American IT sector.

possibly they do

The H-1B foreign guest workers outnumber the U.S. citizens needing a job, documented.

They have to try

and while this notice is on fairly short notice, organizing U.S. workers and getting some publicity on events like this where literally our government is giving away our jobs....you must start somewhere.

But others, he is right, IV has huge corporate money and through the IndiaPAC, USINPAC, they use people with U.S. citizenship, in name only, to push the agenda of India through our Congress and government. It's HUGE bucks and they are simply buying political power.

We have to do this on the cheap, because of course U.S. workers have no money. We don't have any corporations sticking up for us at all, or a huge donor/sponsors.

It will happen

You under estimate how bad the economy that India, Inc. and Hillary Clinton damage. You under estimate the anger of Americans who lose their job because India, Inc. discriminate Americans on American soil. NASSCOM and the slave masters represent India to discuss the US to India foreign policy. NASSCOM can't stop lying.
