Here We Go Again - Destroying U.S. STEM under the Guise of "Immigration Reform"

Once again we have a job killing, let's wipe out all U.S. Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering Professionals agenda parading around as Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

First the bill title is (so you know what to say when you call your representatives repeatedly and demand they defeat this bill):

The Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity Act of 2009, or CIR ASAP. It is sponsored by the notorious illegal immigrant and corporate Representative, Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.).

Firstly it gives ANY foreigner who gets ANY degree in ANYTHING "skilled" related for another nebulously defined U.S. school, a green card or Legal Permanent Residence. Can you imagine what that would do to U.S. tech workers and also people even trying to get accepted into College?

Not only would this put global labor arbitrage on steroids, our entire educational system will be overrun with foreigners trying to get a green card.

The bill also creates a Visa for start-up founders, but note, no conditions on hiring Americans, ensuring it is not an offshore outsourcing company or, well no conditions.

Of course the bill also increases the H-1B cap and recaptures (read increase) unused H-1B Visas from the past. That's an immediate 300,000+ Visa giveaway.

Folks, just say no right now. Don't let them scam you to think this is about a pathway to legislation or amnesty. It's not.

It's about global labor arbitrage on steroids and as usual the higher paying jobs in America are the ones with the targets on their back.

Start your calls, faxes and protests right away because even though the American people have resoundingly rejected this same type of legislation twice, in 2006 and 2007, those corporate lobbbyists and special interests are determined to destroy U.S. STEM careers and opportunities for Americans at all costs.

I am composing a quick message for calling

I am composing a quick message for calling. Something like,
that I oppose any measure that will increase the number of job seekers in America at a time when millions of American citizens are out of work or worried about being out of work. Get America back to work first.

America cannot be the world's labor market!

No other country on Earth puts the rest of the world first and it's own citizens last for opportunities, jobs and careers. Why are you?

We pay taxes for our education system, yet you will ensure our citizens will be last to receive those educational benefits! Over and over again Congress puts U.S. citizens last on jobs and opportunities and now, with a 10% unemployment rate and a U6 of 17.2%...you want to flood the U.S. labor market, in particular, target every job that has a living wage associated with it, by flooding not only the labor market but also squeezing out Americans from educational opportunities! College is so expensive and the student loan default rates as historic highs.

Why does Congress continually try to destroy U.S. opportunities and careers, which should first and foremost be for it's citizens, through manipulation of immigration policy!

One has to wonder...

Yes, one does have to wonder why our government is dead set on undermining our citizens, depriving them from making their own livelihood. Here in Michigan, we have a 15% unemployment rate with rates as high as 25% in the larger cities. If ever there was a conspiracy theory to undermine the American economy and its citizens, this is it. It is in your face and the government is completely apathetic. There are efforts to pass the mass amnesty program, to kill E-Verify, and to massively increase the H-1B Visa program. If there was any thought in the back of your mind that thought the Democrats were looking out for you, all doubt should be removed at this point in time. I am not saying the Republicans are the solution, they would probably do the same given the right opportunity.

I'll tell you why...

It's because we don't have a functioning democracy and our government is captured by Wall Street and corporate lobbyists! Flooding the U.S. market with cheap labor doesn't benefit ordinary working/middle class Americans, but instead benefits our corporate and banker overlords by increasing profits and raising stock prices. They are the ones whose opinions matter to our 'elected' representatives.

You hit the nail on the head.

You hit the nail on the head. We live in a corporatocracy. Businesses are "persons" with many rights according to the Supreme Court. They are running amok.

When you call, point out what

When you call, point out what part of the bill you don't like. Otherwise, they'll assume it's a blanket "no".
